The September 2008 Economy

Lately the DOW has dropped by a pretty large number of points and is leaving many Americans unsure what to do or what to think. This is basically because of all of the reckless buying of expensive houses. The banks were doing so well they thought they could loan to anyone, without caring about their credit history. For people who could not afford luxury houses, the bank decided that they could start them off with a really low payment plan then in a few years drastically raise the payment plan. Finally people would get so in debt they they would default on their house payment hurting the bank and all of it's stocks.

Now shame on these companies for not thinking this through, but how foolish could you be to invest in a $650,000 house while making $25,000 a year. To me that is one of the best things to do to get finaceally screwed.

So now, after all of this and many more scandalous things we have a dilemma, to pay for this stupidity of the bank and certain Americans by way of taxes (about $3000 a person) or do nothing and pray that another great depression doesn't happen.

This is the way I see it. Now even if some Americans messed up it doesn't mean we should totally turn our backs on them. I agree with the government taxing us to help the economy; now I know it is an extremely socialist thing to do (especially for conservatives) but this is an extreme time. I don't want to do what my Great Grandparents did, working for many hours to make mere pennies then buying a meal for your family to last all day. I don't know about you but I pray that it never happens, so preventing it through these taxes, in my eyes, is the best thing at the moment.

Funny stuff

This is just a link to the SNL skit with Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton. I like it (even though it makes fun of Palin) because to tell the truth I don't like clinton that much. Enjoy!

Obama is not experienced enough

Throughout American history, there have been many good presidents to lead our nation through tough times. The great presidents have always known what to do because of there past experiences; presidents like George Washington who was a very successful general during both the French and Indian war and the Revolutionary war. He had both great judgment and many years of experience. Another great president is Teddy Roosevelt who the Governor of New York for many years and was also the Secretary of the Navy. That is what I called experience.

Now these are just examples some examples of great presidents but there are many more. When anyone comes out of no where and says they want to lead this nation because they think they can change things, even though they have no experience that just tics me off. Now even if you consider one term in the senate to be enough experience (which I disagree with) fine; but the democratic nominee Barack Obama has not finished his first term and has spent a good chunk of it campaigning for presidency. Even though he might be a good president later on (maybe), he is not qualified to be president now. Let me ask, what has he done during his term as senater? Not much, he mayby helped pass a few laws but I mean come on. McCain has surved in vietnam, was part of the Reagan Revolution, and surved for 26 years total in congress. How much could Obama learn in his short career in washington? I fermly belive not enough to make an effective change in America today.

One point that has been bugging me lately and I want to bring up is how some people say "Republicans object to Obama being inexperienced but Palin is just as inexperined as he is." There are two major things wrong with this statement. First of all she is the running mate, she should not be held to the same standard as the presidential nominees (but still a high standard). Besides I was thinking the other day how I could see Joe Biden being the nominee and Obama being the running mate, but now I'm getting off topic. The second thing wrong is that she has been a governer about the same time as Obama has been in the Senate which means equal experience, and she has executive experience which carries a lot of weight in this election. While I'm on this topic I would like to say that the Democratic ticket is fully legislative while the Republican is mixed which I personally think is the best way to go. Also I think when people say that Palin was the governer of Alska so it was not important I say B.S. every state in the Union is just as important as the next.

This was just a short explanation on one major reason why I belive Obama is unfit to lead this nation.
